FINALLY

after a loooong lockdown wedding photography is back on for summer 2021. I think I was almost as excited as Louis and Ruth, the bride and groom. For their big day they chose their church, St. Andrew the Great in Cambridge. Surrounded by a small group of 30 family members and friends they tied the knot in the most special ceremony.

Although the law sadly doesn’t allow the congregation to join in with the singing, they were treated to some beautiful music performed by the best man, grooms sister and friends.

After the ceremony the bride and groom got on a zoom call with the guests who couldn’t attend in person, but thanks to the high-tech system in the church they hadn’t missed a single second of the main event.

Both being Cambridge University alumni, it was only fitting that after the ceremony we headed over to their respective colleges for some photos in the gardens. They are truly spectacular locations to have couples shots! Not only were Louis and Ruth blessed with the most glorious sunshine, the flowers were out in bloom and the scent and atmosphere was simply wonderful.

After sending the afternoon in the amazing gardens we headed across King’s Parade, the main tourist hot spot in Cambridge where the newly weds were greeting with so many happy bystanders wishing them their congratulations.

To round of the night, Louis and Ruth had an intimate reception at the Brewhouse in Cambridge. Despite the fact the restrictions don’t allow dancing and mixing, it didn’t stop the guests from having a great time followed by lots of cake. The sheep cake topper was the the most perfect personalised addition to the cake to reflect the brides career as a vet.

Despite the government restrictions, it didn’t feel like a single detail was spared in making the day everything Louis and Ruth had wanted. Congratulations to you both and thank you again for choosing me to be a part of your most special day
