Throughout the month of July, a brand new comet has been visible in the skies of the northern hemisphere. Neowise hasnt been visible from earth for 6800 years and won’t be again for another 4800. So I simply HAD to get some photos.

Astrophotography is something I absolutely love. It’s my passion project, it’s like a form of therapy to me.

Neowise over the skies of Cambridge.

The tricky thing about astrophotography, is that you are at the mercy of the weather. You can check the weather, drive out to somewhere dark to then have the whole thing ruined by cloud cover. After peeking out the window at 11pm after a cloudy day I was so happy to see the cloud had lifted and the stars were BRIGHT.

Comet Neowise over Happisburgh lighthouse July 2020

On the weekend I finally got another clear night after seeing the comet for the first time so it was time to get in the car. This photo was created from 6 photos stitched together to get the ultrawide look. I was so happy with this photo and that I got to see a once in a lifetime event!
